Foundation access is the core of our work in Joliette. A crack that weeps during the thaw, recurring basement water infiltration, a waterproofing membrane that has reached the end of its useful life — to treat the problem at the source, the affected perimeter has to be excavated down to the concrete footing. We pay particular attention to the older homes of the area, where foundations can be shallower than on modern builds and where stone or block requires a gentler approach than freshly poured concrete.

Full French drain installation is our second main service. Many Joliette homes never had a foundation drain, or have an 80-year-old clay drain that has collapsed. We excavate around the perimeter, lay a bed of clean gravel, set the perforated pipe with the continuous slope required by the Code, cover with geotextile, and install cleanout risers at the four corners. In the historic centre, where lots are narrow and neighbours are close, our mini-excavator is often the only piece of equipment that can do the job without taking down sections of fence or felling trees.

We also dig plumbing and utility trenches: new municipal water service, natural-gas line, underground electrical, sump-pump discharge line, or supply for an irrigation system. For properties outside the municipal sanitary sewer network — mostly toward Saint-Thomas and Crabtree — we also prep the ground for septic-system installation and the leaching field, working from the client's engineer drawings and respecting the setback rules from any nearby well or watercourse.

Our strength is precision in tight spaces. Small back yard behind a century-old home, access limited by a shed, immediate neighbours to respect, a mature maple to protect — our rubber-tracked mini-excavator adapts to the site. Once the work is done, we systematically restore the ground: topsoil replaced, lawn reseeded, paving stones reset to match what was there before.
